Riyadh – Mubasher: The deficit in Saudi balance of trade for non-oil merchandise widened 20.6% month-on-month to SAR 25.33 billion in October 2016 from SAR 21 billion.
The deficit decreased 41.6% year-on-year from SAR 43.39 billion in October 2015, reaching SAR 285.48 billion in 12-month period according to the Saudi General Authority for Statistics..
Saudi non-oil exports declined 2.79% to SAR 14.98 billion in October 2016 from SAR 15.41 billion in October 2015, while jumped 51.62% from SAR 9.88 billion during the September 2016.
Plastics and rubber came on top of the exports' list, as they reached SAR 5.05 billion, accounting for 33.74% of overall non-oil exports.
Meanwhile, Saudi non-oil imports fell 31.4% to SAR 40.32 billion in October 2016, compared with SAR 58.8 billion in the year-ago period, but increased 30.24% from SAR 30.98 billion in September 2016.
Chemicals, plastics and rubber also led the imports' list with a value of SAR 13.2 billion, accounting for 32.7% of overall non-oil imports.
