Riyadh – Mubasher: The value added tax (VAT) will not be applied on residential leasehold estate units, and government services in Saudi Arabia, the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) said.
The VAT will not be applied on governmental services as renewing passports, driving licences, and etc, according to the VAT’s official Twitter account on Sunday.
Saudi Arabia plans to apply the VAT starting from January 2018.
The VAT is indirect tax which is applied on commodities and services, not applied on salaries.
