KSA opens consulate in Iraq; Arar border crossing to open in 6M

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has opened a new consulate in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Thursday, the kingdom’s minister of commerce and investment, Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, said.

The oil-rich GCC nation also plans to open three other consulates in three Iraqi cities in the near future, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Arar border crossing between the two countries is set to open within six months which will contribute to fostering bilateral trade relations between the two Arab nations, Al Qasabi added.

In addition, Saudi Arabia allocated a loan worth $1 billion for Iraq to support development projects as well as $500 million to enhance exports.
