Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has seen a significant development in manufacturing military spare parts and its complementary industries, said Major General Attiya al-Maliki, general directorate of the defense ministry's local manufacturing support.
More than 65 million spare parts were locally produced for military equipment, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing Al-Maliki as saying.
The locally-produced items surpassed 5,427 in 2017, in addition to more than 12 domestic projects across the kingdom, Al-Maliki added.
There was a piece whose value worth SAR 33,000, while it was produced locally at SAR 127, the Saudi official noted.
The Saudi private industrial sector has promising investment opportunities in complementary and supplementary military industries that boost the local output and manpower, and support the Saudi Vision 2030.
The defense ministry's exhibitions include 55 investment fields, and about 80,000 manufacturing opportunities.
