Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia raised its holdings of US Treasury bonds year-on-year by 50.16% in October 2017 to $145.2 billion, from $96.7 billion, the US Treasury Department's data showed on Sunday.
On a monthly basis, the Kingdom increased its holdings of US Treasuries by 6.22%, or $8.5 billion, to $145.2 billion in October from $136.7 billion the previous month, the data added.
China is the top holder of US government debt with $1.19 billion, followed by Japan with $1.09 billion.
At the level of Arab nations, Saudi Arabia led the list, followed by the UAE with $57.7 billion, and Kuwait with $39.4 billion.
