Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia ranked 33rd among 139 countries in terms of readiness to contain diverse networks of information technology, advancing two places in 12 months, according to the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual report.
Saudi Ministry of Communication and Information Technology stated that the kingdom was the eighth globally in terms of the efficiency of using information and communications technology (ICT) by government and formal bodies in its work.
It also came in ninth globally in terms of the government’s success in encouraging the use of ICT.
The kingdom ranked 15th in the segment of broadband internet subscriptions for laptops per 100 inhabitants, 17th in electricity production and 18th in the index of the quality of services provided by the government in the internet field. KSA also seized the 20th place in terms of the effectiveness of the ICT legislative process in the kingdom, according to the report.
Moreover, Saudi Arabia ranked the 89th in terms of average per-minute cost of different types of cellular calls and the 30th regarding the country’s laws and legislations on ICT.
The kingdom came in third in terms of mobile phone subscriptions per 100 persons and sixth in the average of different taxes incurred on ICT with a share in commercial profits.
