Riyadh – Mubasher: The banking deposits of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) rose 2.6% in August 2017 reaching SAR 1.62 trillion, compared to SAR 1.58 trillion in the year-ago period, according to data.
On a monthly basis, the SAMA’s deposits shed 0.6% in August.
The banking deposits stood at SAR 1.63 trillion in July 2017.
The demand deposits increased 4.5% to SAR 989.26 billion in August 2017, from SAR 946.8 billion in the same month in the year before.
Month-on-month, demand deposits dropped 0.8% in August 2017 to reach SAR 997.26 billion.
Year-on-year, the SAMA’s bank credit tumbled to SAR 1.42 trillion in August 2017, from SAR 1.43 trillion.
