Dubai – Mubasher: Owners of auto showrooms in the UAE forecast that cars sales will increase after King Salman bin Abdulaziz's royal decree to issue driving licences for Saudi women.
Cars sales’ in the UAE are likely to surge by as much as 25% after the decree, Mohammed Yousif Alzarooni, owner of an auto showroom in Dubai said.
Saudi customers represent the largest number of buyers from UAE auto showrooms, Alzarooni added.
Auto purchases by Saudi citizens in the UAE may contribute by 10% to 15% of total profits of the UAE's auto trade, the owner of Class Motors in Abu Dhabi Sultan Alkatbi stated.
On Tuesday, King Salman issued a royal decree to issue driving licences for Saudi women for the first time in the country’s history, effective 10 Shawwal 1439 Hijri year (24 June 2018).
