Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi imports tumbled 15.5% or SAR 7.007 billion during August 2017, compared to the year-ago period, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) on Wednesday said.
The Kingdom’s imports retreated to SAR 38.091 billion in August 2017, from SAR 45.098 billion in August 2016, the GASTAT added.
Year-on-year, Saudi imports of machinery appliances; electrical equipment decreased 11.6% to reach SAR 9.453 billion in August 2017, compared to SAR 10.695 billion.
Chinese exports to Saudi Arabia slid 13% to SAR 6.042 billion in August 2017, from SAR 6.946 billion in the same month in the previous year.
On a yearly basis, Saudi imports from the US declined 12.4% to reach SAR 5.469 billion in August 2017, compared to SAR 6.246 billion.
The UAE’s exports to Saudi Arabia levelled down 6% reaching SAR 2.620 billion in August 2017, compared to SAR 2.788 billion in the corresponding month in 2016.
