KSA’s merchandise exports rise SAR 7bn in August – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: The merchandise exports of Saudi Arabia went up 11.4% or SAR 6.89 billion year-on-year during August 2017, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics’ (GASTAT) data on Wednesday showed.

The value of the Kingdom’s merchandise exports stood at SAR 67.33 billion in August 2017, compared to SAR 60.44 million in August 2016, the GASTAT added.

Year-on-year, oil exports grew 13.5% or SAR 5.97 billion to reach SAR 50.3 billion in August 2017, compared to SAR 44.34 billion.

Non-oil exports went up 5.8% to SAR 17.02 billion in August 2017, from SAR 16.09 billion in the same month in 2016.

Month-on-month, merchandise exports’ value increased 5.4% or SAR 3.43 billion in August.

On a monthly basis, oil exports grew 4.8% or SAR 2.32 billion.

In August, non-oil exports rose 7% or SAR 1.11 billion, compared to July.

The merchandise exports consist of oil and non-oil exports.
