Riyadh – Mubasher: KSA ranked 62nd out of 176 countries in the 2016 annual Corruption Perception Index (CPI) issued by Transparency International.
The head of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) Khaled El-Mhesan commented that this rank does not reflect the ordinary conditions in the Kingdom.
He added that the rank was due to the lack of adequate information, which the anti-corruption organisation depends on, about the country.
Nazaha constantly seeks sustained cooperation with government stakeholders to provide various organisations with the required data, by releasing up-to-date information on its websites, El-Mhesan added
Nazaha's top executive also highlighted that the commission held three workshops, aiming to raise the awareness of more than 26 government organisations regarding the CPI and to identify the measures it uses to evaluate the level of corruption spreading in the country.
The annual CPI depends on data collected by a number of surveys and polls done by several global organisations such as the World Economic Forum.
Nazaha is the Saudi governmental authority entrusted with protecting integrity and combating corruption in Saudi Arabia.
