KSA’s wholesale price index drops 0.8% in September – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: The wholesale price index of Saudi Arabia decreased by 0.8% year-on-year during September 2017, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics’ (GASTAT) data on Wednesday revealed.

Ores and minerals section levelled down 8.9%, especially after stones and sand section went down with the same ratio, followed by agriculture and fishery products with 2.9%, Other goods section with 2.5%, especially as Wooden products fell 4%, the GASTAT added.

The Kingdom's body stated that metal products, machinery, and equipment section tumbled 1.4%.

On the other hand, food products beverages tobacco and textiles section increased 4.9% to boost the tobacco and beverages sections with 97%, and 43%, respectively.

The wholesale price index lost 0.1% to reach 100.7 points in September, against 100.8 points in the previous month.

On a monthly basis, agriculture and fishery products dropped 0.9%, and food products, beverages and tobacco and textiles with 0.6%.

On the other hand, the section of ores and minerals, and metal products, machinery and equipment grew 0.1%, while the other section remained unchanged.
