KSA seeks solutions to boost Saudisation

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's Shura Council, a top advisory body to the government, on Tuesday will discuss the Ministry of Labor and Social Development’s (MLSD) annual report for the fiscal year 1437/1438 by Hijri date.

Nitaqat programme, a  scheme designed to propel private sector firms to employ more Saudi nationals where possible, failed to achieve its objectives and the MLSD must target specific sectors to carry out Saudisation in them, council member Khalid Al Saoudi said.

The Saudi ministry must take serious steps towards stimulating the Kingdom’s citizens to join the private sector, such as raising the minimum amount of wages, Fahd bin Jumaa, another member stated.

Wages of women and men in the private sector must be equal like their peers in the Saudi public sector, the member in assembly, Mody AlKhalaf noted.
