KSA to end anti-corruption settlements in January – Official

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia forecast that negotiations with people involved in anti-corruption probe will end during January, said Attorney General Saud Al Mojeb.

The Kingdom may get back more than $100 billion through making settlements with the detained persons, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing Al Mojeb as saying.

The Saudi government approved to drop accusations against about 90 of the arrested people.

“The royal order was clear, those who express remorse and agree to settle will have any criminal proceedings against them dropped,” Al Mojeb added.

In December, Saudi minister of Commerce and Investment Majed Al Kassabi that the Kingdom had completed its anti-corruption probe.

In November, Saudi Arabia had arrested 11 princes, as well as several former and current ministers based on a royal decree by King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The arrested included Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, whose investments and companies cover a wide range of sectors across the world.
