Riyadh – Mubasher: Asir region governor Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz launched on Sunday, 7 January, a SAR 1.4 billion ($373 million) project that will conduct water to Bisha and Tathlith governorates from Rub' al Khali.
Another 15 projects were established in Asir during 2017 as part of the Kingdom’s National Transformation Program 2020, which is the first step toward achieving Saudi Vision 2030, according to a statement.
This new project is part of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture’s strategy to ensure water security and meet water demand, said the minister Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhly.
The other 15 projects aim to raise operational efficiency and to increase coverage of services, Al-Fadhly added, noting that the water tank project in Abha was completed previously at a value of SAR 123 million.
