Riyadh – Mubasher: Russia plans to collaborate with Saudi Arabia in privatisation of some firms and assets that Moscow will implement later, Russia's Minister for Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin said.
The Kingdom’s investors will be able to invest directly and indirectly in the Russian companies through the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
Russia plans currently to sell a stake in Sovcomflot and the Saudi investors will be allowed to participate in this transaction.
Sovcomflot is the largest Russian shipping firm which is working in the maritime transportation of hydrocarbons, support and services of offshore exploration ,and gas and oil production.
RDIF and Saudi investors will launch $10 billion fund, according to the Russian Minister interview with Al Arabiya.
The available opportunities for investing in Russia were founded after the drop of oil prices, Oreshkin noted.
Kirill Dmitriev, the chairman of the RDIF Kirill A. Dmitriev stated on Monday that the Kingdom and Russia will reveal a large agreement in the infrastructure sector.
Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz will visit Russia from 4 October until 7 October.
Russia’s Minister of Energy indicated on Monday that his country and the Kingdom will launch a $1 billion fund to invest in energy projects.
