Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia revealed its plans to start issuing tourist visas, starting from the beginning of April, aiming to boost its tourism sector.
For the first time, the kingdom will also issue visas for females who are over 25 years old without a male companion, said EXPRESS newspaper.
Visas for women will be a 30-day single-entry tourist visa.
This step is a part of Saudi efforts to increase investments in tourism sector, as well as to host 30 million visitors on a yearly basis by 2030.
The kingdom nods to establish a city for recreation to be like the one in Las Vegas.
The country will also issue visas for business travellers, persons who visit their relatives, and pilgrims starting from 1 April.
“It is open for people that are doing business, for people working in Saudi Arabia, investing in Saudi Arabia and people who are visiting for special purposes. And now it will be open for tourism again on a selected basis,” the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said.
There are another plans to implement investments in 50 islands in the Red Sea.
