KSA to maintain global energy supply, stability – Falih

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s new energy minister Khalid Al-Falih on Sunday vowed to maintain the Kingdom’s oil policy.

This statement follows a major government overhaul, where Al-Falih was named minister of energy, industry and mineral resources. The shake-up reflected the Saudi government's determination to diversify its economy under the Vision 2030 plan which was announced last month.

“Saudi Arabia will maintain its stable petroleum policies,” the newly-appointed minister said in a statement, adding “We remain committed to maintaining our role in international energy markets and strengthening our position as the world’s most reliable supplier of energy.”

Falih noted that the new ministry was created “in line with the ambitious objectives” of the Vision which has pledged “transparency and accountability,” according to a statement.

The new approach will help Saudi Arabia to meet domestic and international energy demand in a more efficient way, while integrating and diversifying energy and other resources, he said.
