KSA to sign nuclear reactor deals end-2018 – Minister

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia forecast to sign contracts of establishing two nuclear reactors in the Kingdom by the end of 2018, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing the minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid Al-Falih as saying.

Jizan oil refinery will be operated also by the end of 2018, Al-Falih added.

The minister concluded that the energy sector makes up 45% of the Saudi gross domestic product (GDP).

Saudi Arabia is keen on reaching a civilian nuclear cooperation deal with the US, the news agency added, noting that the kingdom has invited US firms to take part in developing the its first atomic energy programme.
