Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) aims to spread the services of high-speed fiber-optic broadband network in more than 400,000 houses in Makkah, said the minister Abdullah Al-Swaha,
The MCIT plans to cover about 850,000 houses with fiber-optic network technology by the end of 2020, Al-Swaha added.
Al-Swaha provided detailed explanation of the ministry’s plan to spread the wireless broadband technology to more than 2,250 villages and residential complexes that will cover more than 100,000 houses.
The Saudi telecom body successfully covered more than 40,000 houses with fiber-optic network technology in Makkah.
