Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi wholesale price index fell 1.4% in July 2017, compared to the year-ago period, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) said on Wednesday.
The ores and minerals section declined 8.7%, followed by other goods with 3.5% of which basic chemicals dropped 6.5%, and furniture and other transportable goods which decreased 4.7%, the GASTAT added.
Agriculture and fishery products dropped 3.1%, and metal products, machinery, and equipment tumbled 2.1%.
Food products, beverages, tobacco, and textiles rose 5.6%, as tobacco grew 97.4% and beverages went up 42.5%.
Month-on-month, the wholesale price index rose 0.1% to 101.2 points from 101.1 points.
