KSE closes in green; Viva posts 1st fall in 5 sessions

Kuwait-Mubasher: The price index of Kuwait Stock Exchange ended Wednesday’s trading session in the green zone, after rising 0.13% or 7.6 points to close at 5,772.66 points.

The weighted index inched up 0.09% or 0.36 points to approach 393.43 points. The Kuwait-15 rose 0.01% or 0.09 points to 938.68 points.

Technical analyst Nawaf Al-Oun said earlier today that the price index would keep heading north to 5,906 points if it targeted 5,815 points in the near future. He added that the 5,906-point level has not been reached since August.

Today’s trading value declined 13.2% to KWD 11.47 million, as trading volume increased 14.2% to 131.75 million shares which were traded through 3,433 transactions.

The consumer goods sector led the gainers with growth of 1.09%, while the telecom sector headed the decliners as it dropped 2.25%.

Kout Food was the top winner by adding 17.54%, while Zima Holding headed the losers with a 6.78% fall.

Gulf Petroleum Investment was the most active stock as 18.14 million shares were exchanged through a turnover of KWD 1.04 million. The stock grew 1.75%.

Viva recorded the highest turnover of KWD 1.26 million, after 1.17 million shares were traded through 282 deals. However, the stock fell by 3.6%; posting its first decline in five sessions.
