KSE closes in red; all sectors down

Kuwait – Mubasher: The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) ended Monday trading on a negative note, amid a fall in eight sectors.

The price index declined 0.47% or 25.83 points to the level of 5,431.68 points, the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices shrank 0.56% and 0.62% respectively.

The insurance sector was the worst performer after dropping 1.44%, pressured by the fall in Wethaq Takaful Insurance, Kuwait Insurance and Al Ahleia Insurance by 8.48%, 3.3% and 2.11% respectively.

The banks and real estate sectors also shrank by 1% and 0.45% respectively.

However, the consumer goods sector gained 1.22% as Americana rose 9.5%.

Trading volume increased 39.3% to 183.4 million shares from 131.7 million shares on Sunday, turnover also rose 19.8% to KWD 20.6 million from KWD 17.2 million.
