KSE indices closes down on telecom, industrial stocks

Kuwait – Mubasher: The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) closed Sunday’s trading on a negative note as its indices declined collectively.

The price index fell 0.25% or 14.1 points to the level of 5,554.90 points, the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices shrank 0.16% and 0.06% respectively.

Trading volume decreased to 111.11 million shares from 175 million shares exchanged on Thursday, turnover also shrank to KWD 11.58 million from KWD 16.2 million.

The technology sector fell 4.04% due to the drop in Osos Holding Group by 6.1% and Hayat Communications by 5.26%.

The telecom sector declined 0.58% as Ooredoo Kuwait slid 3.5%, the industrial sector retreated 0.55%, dragged by a 8.33% decrease in Shuaiba Industrial, the worst performing stock.

On the other hand, the basic materials sector rose 1.6%, the consumer goods sector advanced 1.03% as Kuwait United Poultry rose 5.6% and the consumer services sector ascended 0.04%.

Al Imtiaz Investment Group led the trading activity with a volume of 26.63 million shares exchanged at KWD 2.65 million; the stock fell 6.73%.
