Kuwait – Mubasher: The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) commenced Thursday's trading in the red following a collective decline of all of its indices.
The price index edged down 0.02% to 5,406.94 points, while the weighted and Kuwait 15 indices slipped 0.17% and 0.08%, respectively.
Total turnover reached KWD 1.8 million after around 15 million shares changed hands through 516 transactions by 09:30am Kuwait time.
The telecom sector led losers, falling 2% after Kuwait Telecommunication co. "Viva" dropped 4.9%, while the banking sector declined 0.39%, following pressure from Ithmaar Bank, which lost 1.54%.
On the flipside, the real estate sector added 0.32%, backed by Mazaya's stock, which gained 1.75%, while the industrial sector grew 0.12% after Heavy Engineering Industries and Shipbuilding increased 3.8%.
KSE indices ended Wednesday's session on a mixed note, after the price index lost 0.07% to 5,407.67 points, while the weighted and Kuwait 15 indices grew 0.49% and 0.75%, respectively.
