KSE’s indices open Monday in red

Kuwait – Mubasher: The main index of Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) started Monday’s trading session down 0.15% or 7.86 points to reach 5,301.29 points.

Both Kuwait-15 and the weighted indices fell 0.57% and 0.41% respectively by 9:25am Kuwait time.

The negative performance at open was affected by Sunday’s news of dissolving the Kuwaiti national Assembly.

Turnover amounted to KWD 816,000 after 6.83 million shares were traded through 197 transactions.

The financial services sector led KSE’s decliners with 0.61%, while the telecom sector topped the gainers with a growth of 0.59%.

Tamdeen was the top loser with a fall of 8.33%, while Iskan advanced the winners with a rise of 2.7%.

Hits Telecom was the most active stock on which 6,700 shares were exchanged at about KWD 242,170. The stock gained 2.9% to reach 35.5 fils.
