Kuwait-Mubasher: Kuwait’s stock market closed out the week lower, after the market cap took a hit up to KWD 1.14 billion.
The main index declined 3.82% or 209.2 points to 5,265.94 points as compared to 5,475.15 points in the previous week.
The weighted index dropped 4.48% or 16.66 points during the week ended 14 January to reach 355.39 points The Kuwait-15 index lost 5.48% or 48.07 points to settle at 828.38 points from 876.45 in the past week.
Over the week, liquidity increased 56.4% to KWD 69.48 million, as trading volume rose by 3.1% to 436.45 million shares that were traded through 12,9000 transactions.
It is worth highlighting that the past week was only four sessions, as the stock exchange was closed on 3 January.
Market cap lost KWD 1.14 billion during the week to stand at KWD 24.36 billion.
