KSE starts Wednesday’s session in red

Kuwait – Mubasher: The price index of Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) levelled down 0.19% or 10 points to reach 5,437.69 points by 9:45am Kuwait time on Wednesday.

Both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices lost 0.29% and 0.40% respectively.

KSE’s turnover stood at KWD 2 million after 23 million shares were exchanged through 453 transactions.

The market’s real estate sector led the decliners by 0.52%, dragged by Awj, Al Massaleh Real Estate, and Sokouk Holding which fell by 7.3%, 6.4%, and 2.9% respectively.

Meanwhile, the basic materials sector topped the gainers by 0.58%, on the back of Qurain which gained 2.74%.

Almal was the most active stock on which 7.6 million shares were exchanged through 103 transactions at a value of nearly KWD 173,200.

Zain posted the highest turnover that stood at about KWD 880,300 after nearly 2,700 shares were traded. The stock retreated 1.5%.
