Mubasher: Katara Hospitality, a state-owned Qatari fund, revealed that it has opened Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne in Switzerland.
After nine years of construction work and a year after its soft launch, the Qatari hotel developer opened the $1 billion resort on Friday at a grand opening ceremony.

Over 1,000 highly esteemed guests attended the opening including Swiss Federal Councillor Schneider-Ammann, Katara Hospitality CEO Hamad Abdullah, and Bruno Schopfer, managing director of Katara Hospitality Switzerland.
The resort comprises four hotels with a category of three- to five-star Superior, with 383 rooms and suites, a health and medical centre, eight restaurants and bars, 67 residence suites, a 10,000 square meters alpine spa, as well as a host of facilities and services.


In August 2017, the Qatari developer announced that it acquired Bürgenstock Resort with an amount of $1 billion.
