Kima sees EGP 344m sales in H1-17/18

Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima) on Sunday posted a 30.6% year-on-year surge in net sale for the first half of fiscal year 2017/2018.

Sales stood at EGP 344.3 million in the first six-month period of FY17/18, up from EGP 263.7 million in the corresponding period of the prior fiscal year, Kima highlighted in a filing to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX).

Meanwhile, sales jumped by 55.27% year-on-year to EGP 49.13 million in December 2017, according to the filing.

The company’s sales in US dollars amounted to about $1.12 million at the end of December 2017, compared to $45 million in December 2016, while sales in Euro reached EUR 73,000 from EUR 51,000.

Given that Kima had previously posted a 122% year-on-year hike in profits for FY17/18 to EGP 17.37 million from EGP 7.82 million.
