Kuwait, Iran in negotiations on gas export

Kuwait-Mubasher: Kuwait is in negotiations with Iran to sign an agreement on exporting gas, said Chairman of National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) and International Affairs Director of (NIGC), Azizollah Ramazani.

“Negotiations are underway with Afghanistan, Oman, Kuwait and Persian Gulf littoral states in order to reach stipulated objectives by exporting gas to neighboring countries,” the chairman added, according to Iran’s Mehr News Agency.

Iran produces a total of 700 cubic meters of gas per day, with estimates to reach 1.2 billion cubic meters by the end of the Sixth National Development Plan, after sanctions were lifted, the chairman added.

“A daily export capacity of 200 million cubic meters will be created while the figure can hit 350 million cubic meters by taking advantage of optimization projects,” noted Ramazani.
