Kuwait Airways operates 12 repatriation flights Sunday

Mubasher: Kuwait Airways launched 12 flights on Sunday, 19 April, as part of the current repatriation plan aimed at bringing Kuwaiti nationals stranded abroad amid the widespread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).  

As part of the three-day repatriation phase, the Kuwaiti airline operated three flights from Riyadh and Manama, each, two from Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and two from Muscat and Doha, Kuwait Airways told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

In this regard, Kuwait Airways’ chairman, Yousef al Jassem, said that the airline is fully ready for the “grand repatriation” phase and has harnessed all of its efforts to bring the citizens home safe and sound.

“Kuwait Airways is keen on playing its due part in this regard; given that it is the main national carrier of the state,” he remarked.

Around 40 flights are scheduled to be carried out by Kuwait Airways over the three-day phase.

It is worth highlighting that the first phase, which began last Sunday and ends on Tuesday, is the first of five phases and it includes 75 flights to 16 destinations, namely Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Manama, Doha, Cairo, Alexandria, Amman, London, Istanbul, Ankara, Paris, and Geneva.
