Kuwait C.bank issues KWD 160m bonds, raises return

Mubasher: The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) has issued bonds and securities valued at KWD 160 million, the central bank said.

This bonds issue was in line with raising the return on bonds to 2%, the highest return by the CBK since over seven years in April 2009.

The CBK noted that these bonds will mature in three months on 20 March 2018.

The bonds were subscribed 5.7 times, with a demand worth KWD 918 million.

Backing cash liquidity in the Kuwaiti market, this bonds issue is included in the securitisation procedures with Islamic banks.

It is noteworthy that the CBK has kept the discount price unchanged at 2.75% last week.
