Kuwait C.bank profits up 47% in FY16/17

Mubasher: The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) achieved a growth of 47% in profits during the fiscal year ended 31 March 2017 compared to the same period a year ago.

Net profits soared to KWD 65.62 million in FY16/17 from KWD 44.76 million in FY15/16, according to an official statement.

Operating revenues increased by 16% to KWD 109.4 million in FY16/17 compared to KWD 94.32 million in FY15/16.

CBK’s assets stood at KWD 9.52 billion in FY16/17 compared to KWD 9.3 billion in the prior fiscal year, the statement noted.

Total deposits and investments in foreign currency rose by 2.3% to KWD 8.64 billion in FY16/17 from KWD 9.3 billion a year ago.
