Mubasher: The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) has sold treasury bonds worth KWD 200 million over two different issuances with various terms.
The first issuance was valued at KWD 100 million, with a three-year maturity period ending on 23 September 2020, according to a recent official statement.
With a return of 2.5%, this issuance was covered 4.4 times with a volume of KWD 444 million.
Meanwhile, the second issuance is worth KWD 100 million, with maturity period of two years that will end on 25 September 2019.
It was covered 4.5 time, with a volume of KWD 456 million and a return of 2.25%.
It is worth highlighting that the CBK has issued about 32 issuances since the beginning of 2017, with an overall value of KWD 3.1 billion.
Kuwait is working on raising its bonds collection to KWD 20 billion instead of KWD 10 billion, as well as expanding maturity period to be 30 years, as part of the country’s debts instruments, finance minister Anas Al Saleh said.
