Kuwait agrees to oil freeze deal

Kuwait – Mubasher: Kuwait is committed to the agreement reached in Doha on Tuesday to freeze oil output at January’s levels, provided that other OPEC and non-OPEC producers follow the same steps, said Anas Al-Saleh, Acting Oil Minister.

Kuwait’s compliance with the agreement aims to foster all efforts trying to achieve balance in oil prices and regional markets as well as to benefit producers, consumers, and economy, which would create positive atmosphere to reach the above goal and more importantly to maintain the balance of regional markets, he stated.

Qatar’s Energy Minister Mohamed Al Sada said yesterday oil ministers of Saudi Arabia, Russia and Venezuela agreed to ‎lock up their production levels at last January levels.

Al Sada told reporters after the meeting that this agreement will be offered to major producers to take final decision.
