Kuwait announces 8 new coronavirus patients; toll rises to 80

Mubasher: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health on Thursday reported eight new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections, taking the total count to 80 in the country so far, according to an official statement by the ministry.

Five of the new patients are residents that were in close contact with a previously-confirmed case from Azerbaijan, while the other three are Kuwaiti nationals who returned from Iran lately.

Previously, the Kuwaiti government announced a public holiday for two weeks starting Thursday, 12 March, until 26 March, amid worries over coronavirus.
