Kuwait bans domestic workers from 27 countries

Mubasher: Kuwait banned the hiring of domestic workers from 27 countries, including two Asian and 25 African countries, according to a new list by the interior ministry’s General Directorate of Residency.

Domestic workers from Indonesia and Bhutan can no longer work in Kuwait.

The ban also included workers from Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar, Djibouti, Uganda and Kenya.

Moreover, female workers from Senegal, Malawi, Chad, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Democratic Congo, Gambia, Zimbabwe, Niger, Ghana, and Burundi were also banned.

However, the ban was scrapped for workers coming from Eretria and Liberia, while eight countries.

Kuwait was still receiving male workers only from Senegal and workers from Vietnam, Nepal and South Africa, according to the list.
