Mubasher: The exports volume index in Kuwait reported a decline of 6.5% during the second quarter of 2017 compared to the same period a year ago, according to the latest data issued by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).
The volume of the fuel sector’s exports decreased by 7.2% in Q2-17 compared to Q2-16, while the non-oil exports grew by 3.4%.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s imports volume index went up 2.4% in Q2-17 compared to Q2-16, the CSB added.
The indices of the “food, beverages, and tobacco” and the “raw materials” sectors retreated by 2.8% and 6.1%, respectively.
Kuwait’s trade exchange rate reached 67.8; this index reflects the rate between the exports and imports.
