Kuwait imports 3.6m facemasks to contain coronavirus spread

Mubasher: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry has imported more than 3.6 million medical facemasks, in coordination with the health and defence ministries to meet the growing domestic demand, state-run Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Monday.  

The commerce ministry has tasked Kuwait Supplies Company with distributing facemasks across the country at the soonest, as part of efforts to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

It further clarified that the items were delivered through airplanes.      

Earlier today, the Gulf state reported a total of 65 cases with the new coronavirus.
