Kuwait inks $80m contracts for healthcare projects in Tunisia

Mubasher: Kuwait will pump about $79.7m (KWD 24.3m) into five healthcare projects in Tunisia, according to Construction Week Online.  

Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has signed a credit facility agreement valued at $79.4m (KWD 24m) to build four hospitals across Tunisia.

Financing the four hospitals will be provided at an interest rate of 1.5%, and will be repaid within 20 years, with a four-year grace period, Construction Week Online added.

Construction works and equipment sourcing for the four hospitals will be completed through the sum, with a due for completion in 2021.

In addition to the four hospitals, a grant worth $993,400 (KWD 300,000) has been approved by Kuwait to prepare a technical and economic feasibility study for a cancer centre in the Tunisian capital.
