Mubasher: Kuwait has reportedly informed Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries that it is nominating former Minister of Finance Nayef Al-Hajraf for the post of GCC Secretary-General.
The announcement was made by the Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister, Khaled Al-Jarallah, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Wednesday.
“We hope that the coming GCC summit would approve Dr. Al-Hajraf's nomination,” Al-Jarallah told reporters during an event in the German Embassy in Kuwait on Tuesday.
"Al-Hajraf has a great economic insight and I believe this is what the GCC needs at present," he stressed.
The date of the next GCC summit is yet to be agreed upon among member countries.
