Kuwait ranks 7th regionally in luring investments – Forbes

Kuwait-Mubasher: Kuwait ranked 76th globally and 7th regionally in terms of attracting foreign investments, according to U.S. Forbes Magazine.

It indicated that Kuwait has not offered more to diversify its economy due to weak business environment and troubled relation between the former National Assembly and government.

Despite announcing the development plan in 2010 and allocating $104 billion for diversifying economy and luring investments over four years, several projects have not been carried out due to the instable political position, the magazine said.

The gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.1% this year to $179 billion, and GDP per capita reached around $70,700.
