Kuwait-Mubasher: The overall position of Kuwait’s balance of payments (BoP) saw a deficit of KWD 886 million in 2015, against a surplus of KQD 363 million a year earlier, according to a report released by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).
The country’s current account made a surplus of KWD 1.797 billion in 2015, compared to KWD 15.479 billion in 2014.
Lower current account surplus reflected a decrease in the value of oil exports.
BOP saw a slower growth in the net value of recorded external assets owned by residents to reach KWD 2.066 billion in 2015, compared to KWD 16.354 billion in 2014.
