Mubasher: Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) announced that its subsidiary KUFPEC Malaysia (SK410B) Ltd has made a significant gas discovery at the Lang Lebah-1RDR2, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Thursday.
The Lang Lebah-1RDR2 is the first exploration well in SK410B project situated in the shallow waters, around 90 kilometres off the coast of Sarawak in Malaysia, with the acreages of about 1,870 square kilometres.
KUFPEC owns a participating interest of 42.5%, while the operator PTTEP HKO and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd hold participating interests of 42.5% and 15%, respectively.
In March, the drilling of Lang Lebah-1RDR2 started, targeting non-associated gas in the primary target of the Middle Miocene cycle IV/V carbonate reservoir to a total depth of 3,810 metres, and it encountered 252 metres of net gas pay.
Upon testing, the well flowed at a completion constrained rate of 41.3 million cubic feet of gas per day and 246 barrels of condensate per day through a 40/64-inch choke size.
