Kuwait’s PPI rises 12% in Q2-17

Kuwait - Mubasher: The Producer Prices Index (PPI) in Kuwait went up by 12.04% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2017, as per the data of the Kuwait Central Statistical Bureau.

Data showed that the Producer Prices General Index declined by 7.6% quarter-on-quarter, as it recorded 69.8 points, compared to 75.5 points in the previous quarter.

The index for the extractive industries group rose 15.5%, as a result of the rise in the index of oil extraction prices by 15.4%.

The index of the manufacturing industry fell 0.55%, as a result of the decrease in the oil refining prices index by 0.67%.

The transformative industries index registered a growth of 5.9%, due to the increase in prices for the oil refineries group by 13.9%.

On a monthly basis, the PPI fell by 4.3% compared to its levels in June.
