Kuwait - Mubasher: Banking credit in Kuwait grew by 0.78% in September, and totalled KWD 34.7 billion, registering an increase of KWD 271 million compared to its level in August, according to the Central Bank of Kuwait.
Credit also registered an annual growth of 7.2% compared to its level in September 2015 when it amounted to KWD 32.4 billion.
The central bank data also showed a 1.5% monthly growth in personal loans, as it totalled KWD 14.5 billion, recording an annual increase of 7.7%, while consumer loans declined by 0.88% month-on-month and by 2% year-on-year, totalling KWD 1.15 billion
Meanwhile, governmental deposits reached KWD 6.81 billion, registering its fourth consecutive monthly increase, as it rose by 0.73% compared to its level in the month before, while deposits by the private sector totalled KWD 34.13 billion, as it went up by 1.2% compared its levels in August, and by 2.5% compared to its level in September 2015.
