Kuwait’s central bank raises deduction rate

Kuwait-Mubasher: The Central Bank of Kuwait’s (CBK) board of directors decided on Wednesday to raise the deduction rate by 0.25% to 2.25% as of Thursday, 17 December, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

KUNA added that the decision taken by CBK was for ensuring the competitive edge of the national currency and enabling the main sectors of the economy to overcome the challenges of the current stage, said CBK Governor Mohammad Al-Hashel.

This decision followed the US Reserve Fed’s increase of interest rate by 0.25%.
