Mubasher: Kuwait International Bank (KIB) on Thursday announced that it will sponsor the B2B4SME symposium for the second time in a row, which is organised by the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Kuwait (ASMEK).
The symposium will take place on 5 December at Shaheed Park 2, according to the bank’s statement.
The bank targets sponsoring events that aim at nurturing entrepreneurs, providing them with a platform for exchanging experiences and expertise.
According to the bank’s vision, small businesses help in boosting the local labour market through the active participation of the private sector and the participation of youth in national economic development.
Anwar Marafie, Senior Manager, head of SME Division at KIB, pointed out that young Kuwaiti entrepreneurs are capable of setting up exceptional projects and start-ups that are able to make their mark on a regional level.
He added that such projects and businesses will actively contribute to achieving Kuwait’s 2035 vision, helping to transform the GCC country into a financial and trade hub that attracts investors.
Marafie said that these serves are ample motivation for young entrepreneurs to create and innovate.
He pointed out that the economic climate in Kuwait is perfect for nurturing small and medium-sized businesses, driven by the Amir’s vision which focuses on encouraging investment in the private sector.
The Kuwaiti government has taken on the responsibility to support these projects financially through launching the National Fund for SME Development which seeks to foster and support SMEs, as well as providing land for industrial projects and local SMEs.
