Kuwait’s emir says budget cuts became urgent

Kuwait-Mubasher: Kuwait’s emir highlighted the new urgency for running economic rationalization programmes aimed at plugging the state’s financial gap that is sparked by the recent crisis in oil.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah cited the oil crisis continued fallouts which are knocking down oil-producing countries as factors that would widen the budget deficit to reach KWD 8.18 billion in 2016.

The emir underlined “the importance of maintaining dignified life conditions for citizens, as well as providing their basic living needs,” according to KUNA.
